About the Journal
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
No fee is charged for publishing papers in the journal.
All manuscripts submitted to Íslenska þjóðfélagið are first evaluated by the editors, who decide whether the manuscript will undergo peer review (double-blind peer review). The peer review process is anonymous, meaning that the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. Manuscripts selected for peer review are assessed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field, who evaluate the manuscript’s quality, provide suggestions for improvement, and recommend whether the paper should be published.
The managing editor will contact authors within two weeks of manuscript submission. If you have submitted a manuscript and have not received a confirmation or response within this timeframe, please contact managing editor Sóllilja Bjarnadóttir at sollilja@hi.is.
